Between the wedding in Nauvoo, Camping, classes, and Birthday's, we have been gone 20 out of the 31 days in July and the first 5 days in August. But this Summer has brought many happy times with family! It has been wonderful!
Mom even enjoyed a turn.
Dad sitting enjoying watching Charly explore!
All the Men will be wearing this fashionable attire for next years camping season;) (Babydoll in pocket included!)
Charly decided that the dogs were nice enough to pet.
OK after camping Mom had a class at GWC she wanted to attend so her and the kids stayed in Cedar while Dad went back home to work. We spent and few days there and Mom loved her class as usual and then we made the trek down to see the Olive's. We were going to go to a reunion there but it was cancelled so since it was our anniversary weekend I decided to surprise Ry with a little getaway!

The boys helped pick up fallen palm leaves in Grandma's yard.

Cousins came over and they played in the water too!
Charly being a goof! She loved climbing in the stroller she is getting into more and more mischief all the time, walking pretty good, learning sign language very quickly and saying more words all the time. It's fun to communicate more and more with her.
The next weekend Dad came to get us planning on attending the reunion! He was surprised to find out that there wasn't one and that we had reservations at. . . . .

. . . . .The Anniversary Suite at the Willow Glenn Inn.

It's a very pretty place with gardens all around. We have been there before and love the peacefulness of the place.

Look at what was sitting in the grass with us!
And as you know last year Charly was born on our Anniversary so we celebrated her first birthday at Grandma's!
1 large lemon, rind grated and juice of
1 1/4 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot powder
1/2 cup organic or raw sugar plus 2 tablespoons (or to taste)
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional)

Charly's Cake was very tasty my Mom helped me come up with the recipe! (Thanks Mom!) I just used my "White Cake" recipe from my book and I added this yummy lemon sauce to the top of it!
Lemon Sauce
1 large lemon, rind grated and juice of
1 1/4 cups boiling water
2 tablespoons cornstarch or arrowroot powder
1/2 cup organic or raw sugar plus 2 tablespoons (or to taste)
1 pinch salt
2 tablespoons coconut oil (optional)
1 drop natural butter flavor
Add in rind to boiling water; reduce heat, and simmer for 5 minutes.
In a small bowl, mix cornstarch, sugar and salt together.
Add water gradually, whisking constantly.
Return to saucepan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened.
Lower heat and cook for 5-6 minutes longer.
Remove from heat, and stir in lemon juice, optional coconut oil and butter flavor.
Best served warm.

Ok, after looking at your pictures, I am in the mood to go camping. The Nelsons are awesome to do lots of camping trips. We need to start planning one. I think the zip line looks like a blast...I have always wanted one of those in the back yard for the kids, but now the big trees are all gone !?! You guys have definitely had an eventful, but memorable summer. I hope you gave Charly a big hug and kiss for us on her birthday, give her another, just in case you didn't, ok? What a sweet little joy she is! Looks like the anniv. getaway was wonderful, too, in spite of the creatures in the grass! Love you all!
Now life can get back to normal. Too bad! It was great seeing you this summer. Caleb already misses you.
