What we did for Independence Day!

Well the kids thought the first order for the day would be to decorate!
So they made pictures of fireworks and hung them up! Notice Dad in on the act;)

Then Mom broke out the flags and they thought
it would add just the right touch!

We then had some yummy french toast for breakfast! A recipe made by
Tammie as she has craved french toast this pregnancy and most of you
know we don't eat eggs. So she had to get creative. Here is what she came
up with feel free to try it. They are very tasty!
Tammie's Tasty French Toast
1 cup raw cashews soaked in water for about 30 min./then drained
4 Tablespoons ground golden flax seed mixed with one cup of water let sit for a minute to gel
1-2 Tablespoons Sucanat
2 teaspoons vanilla
3/4 cups Rice Milk
Dash of Cinnamon and nutmeg
Blend all Ingredients in Blender (be sure cashews are drained) and blend till smooth. Use mixture just like a french toast mixture dipping the bread in it and frying on griddle or in frying pan. Of course we use whole grain bread usually whole wheat but any is good i.e. multigrain etc. And we really like it with natural peanut butter and 100% pure grade A or B maple syrup.

That afternoon we went over to our park and had a flag ceremony and
a Sergeant from Camp Williams read the "Declaration of Independence".
We also sung a few patriotic songs. Matt, Curt and Missy are singing
"America the Beautiful" in the picture above. It was a great experience
for all of us and we hope to make it a family tradition.

Ryan is a very close resemblance to one of "Barker's Beauties" there with his French Toast! Very Fun! Can't wait to try the recipe! Thanks a ton!
Love, Em
